TRAIL RIDES....We at the Reedan Ranch offer a variety of
experiences for the horseback enthusiast.
We have well trained and personable horses for all ages and skill levels.
From the greenhorn to the seasoned rider, we will tailor a trail ride for you.
Our trails are in the northern forest with obstacles and challenges for horse
and rider both. The average ride is about 2 hours, but length can vary
from 30 minutes to all day rides depending on your preference. For those
who are not quite old enough for a trail ride, ( minimum age is 6 yrs for a
trail ride) we have pony rides for little pokes!
Riding groups are small, allowing guests to venture to wondrous places in a
relaxed and comfortable pace. An outdoor arena provides a convenient place to
practice riding, gain confidence and expand horsemanship skills. Our goal at
Reedan Ranch is to provide guests with a quality riding experience that keeps
pace with their abilities.
LESSONS...If lessons are more your
style a skilled Level One Western Coach is available. Lessons vary from
basic horsemanship skills to achieving your 1,2, & 3 rider levels through the
Equine Canada. Reena focuses her teaching on
developing solid basic
fundamental skills in both horse and rider to support any discipline the rider
may chose to peruse. When not working with Reena, relax on a scenic trail
ride through the tall pines.
BRING YOUR OWN HORSE...If
you have your own horse that you would like to take on your vacation, boarding
is available and guiding is an option. Saddle up for some good
old fashioned fun as you ride along the trails, hoping for a sneak peek at the
wildlife in their native surroundings.
COLT BREAKING...Perhaps you are the owner
of an unruly horse, or just a young colt that needs training we can also take on
the task of training him to be the horse you've always wanted. Give Reedan
Ranch a call for availability.
Sleigh/wagon rides are offered on a pre-booked basis. Also available is
a sleigh ride and dinner package. What could be better for your group or
family then a hearty "country gourmet" dinner served after your sleigh
ride.
All Terrain Vehicles
There are a network of trails throughout the northern forest that aren't for
the weary. There are many destination points to travel to and miles of
playground in between. By pre-booking your stay, Reedan Ranch can have
fuel available for your needs.
Snowmobile Enthusiasts
The snowmobile trail system that is close to us is a part of the Esker Bear trail, a
groomed snowmobile trail that leads all over the Gem Lakes area.
With pre-booking we can ensure we have extra fuel available for your machines.
To complete your nostalgic winter experience you will be
invited to warm up and enjoy hot drinks and fresh popped popcorn.
Boreal forest by day on a snowmobile and then indulge in a cozy cabin by night.
Other Activities
Cross country skiers, snow-shoers, hikers, joggers will be more than pleased with the layout of the trails.
With the incredible beauty of the boreal forests and the wildlife that calls
this forest home you will be amazed with the experience. With all the splendid beauty, photographers, artists and
painters will find the White Gull Creek a true gem. The boreal forest, a
land of natural wonder and beauty.
Log Cabins are available all year. Each cabin has propane heat, separate
shower and toilets, satellite T.V. , and partial kitchenettes. Each cabin
can accommodate up to eight, yet is cozy enough for two.
